Bah humbug!

The shapes were difficult to cut and fold in paper but I think they give a vague idea of how the actual piece might look.Of course there will be seam treatments.inserts and fastenings to the real thing.

I drew some variations on the shape then made them in some felt.Next I went on to think about how I might use the ideas for fabrics gleaned in this unit. What follows are the pages in my sketchbook to detail these thoughts.

After my tutorial at Summer school I have taken the idea of making my shape simpler and allowing the fabrics to speak for the piece. With this in mind I have been playing with Sian's suggested "humbug".

Looking good Jen, how big do you think the finished 'humbug' will be? Everyone has been very busy after summer school... shall look forward to your finished piece..love Maggie

Will this "Humbug" be a cushion?
Or a group of objet d'art that are placed decoratively on a table?
best wishes

Hi Jen
I remember considering making a humbug shaped cushion made up of padded, woven strips. Trouble is it looked like a chicken carcass - so I gave up on the idea!
