Quilt makers.

I went to a quilt exhibition this morning, not because I am a quilter but it was an opportunity to get out into the sunshine instead of staying indoors. There were a great many and you were asked to choose your favourite. I liked the one that had used a book of mens' suiting samples. She had pieced hexagons and it made for a lovely quilt. There  were lots of traditionally pieced in cotton, another I liked was a flannel one of simple rectangles but stitched with seeding, detached chain.I would quite happily have given them house room.Silly ,but I took no photos.anyway the point of this post.......there were traders with jelly rolls, charm packs, books etc.I found on one of these stalls a lady selling various size yo-yo maker,Suffolk puffs. Now, this interested me as I have been making some in chiffon,a real faff! So I purchased one and you can see the result in photo.
As I have said I am looking at fossils and ways of interpreting  them in stitch. This is some scrim free machined and I have poked the puffs through the pulled threads.I intend to add hand stitch and develop.

What a lovely way to spend a day. Your blog is lovely and I can't believe how many different mediums you work in. I am seriously impressed!

I'm glad you had such an enjoyable day and your work is beautiful. I have happy memories of my grandmother having a quilt made entirely of Suffolk Puffs. She laid it over a plain coloured bedspread so that the contrasting colour showed through the gaps between the circles.
